A Summer Worth Savouring
I dropped two rolls of film to get developed yesterday. The first of which I’m sharing today: a colour roll purchased from my friends at Analogue Academy back in Australia ($2AUD each, how could I resist!) and kept alive in my Canon AE-1 for 6 whole months. A window into a long summer. My first living in London.
The Golden Circle, Iceland
Visiting Iceland? The Golden Circle is a marketing name given to a series of natural wonders in the south-west of Iceland. It’s a 300km loop that you can complete by car or by tour bus, depending on your preference. This is a no affiliate, honest opinion based on personal experience.
Stinky Subways and Manhattan Musings (Part 2)
On the only sunny day in the first week of May this year, I did eventually make it to Central Park. And whilst I don’t necessarily confirm or deny that my dream was some kind of warning about my inner turmoil, visiting the park was a very spiritual and fulfilling experience.
Stinky Subways and Manhattan Musings (Part 1)
New York City was a place I knew I would visit again. Partly due to the proximity to London, its position as a centre for art and business in The States, and also because I really did like it a lot… I just didn’t realise how much I truly enjoyed the vibe until I returned to the city in December after seven months of inner-London living.
3 Things I Learned On My First Group Travel Experience
I’m a serial solo traveller, so group travel is an entirely new experience. Solo travel comes with many perks (I get to do what I want, when I want, and how I want) but, as I learned this past weekend, group travel can open the doors to new experiences that you wouldn’t normally consider when you’re hacking it by yourself.
Snippets from New Zealand (Part 1)
The fact that I visited New Zealand ten months ago is shocking. The fact that only now am I sharing my photos from my time there is alarming. Sometimes I do this thing where I work so hard on my client work that I forget that I have other images I need and want to edit. Finally however, I've managed to power through my files and release these into the wild (yay!).
A Morning At Hanging Rock
The hardest thing about having a creative and entrepreneurial mind is that not every idea hits you at the right moment. So much stuff gets in the way of my ideas: money, work, lack of time, resources. But it's important to keep chipping away at the mould until you eventually break through - persistence is key.
A Hawaiian Adventure
Hawaii, whilst part of the USA, felt more like a separate entity, caught between two worlds. The laid back, no worries attitude mixed with a sense of paranoia that anyone and everyone could sue you was quite the sight. Only the cash we carried in our hands and the big chain fast food restaurants reminded us that we were in a state of America.
Snapshots from Sydney
As I calmed down from being in absolute awe of my new surroundings, I made myself a pot of tea and sat at the table. Windows wide open, the breeze carrying the voices of people conversing on the ground below up to my fifth-floor abode. I began reading How to be Parisian, a book my best friend and her family bought for me for my birthday. This is what I had been wanting to do, to just get away.
